Wooden Venetian Blinds
If you are looking for that special something to showcase your home, look no further than wooden venetian blinds. Wooden venetian blinds offer that elegant look that can really give your rooms the expensive punch.
But you do have many things to consider when looking at wood window blinds. For example, you have to consider the window sizes, (including width, length and depth), blind thickness, blind slat density, color and physical controls.
Some of these things are strictly ecstatic in nature but others are functional. For example, when you are shopping for wooden venetian blinds, you have to consider your windows sizes to the blinds you’d be interested in. It doesn’t make sense to purchase thicker slats for the blinds for smaller windows.
For this you would probably be sticking to 2” or smaller slats. But for larger windows, you can easily feature 2 ½” slats.
Also, you need to consider the color of the blinds. You have many choices, the most popular being a standard white or the natural wood color. A white blind may look very good in a very colorful room, acting more as an accent to the colors in the room, while wood colored slats can fit well in just about any environment.
But when you are looking at the physical options in wooden venetian blinds, you’ll be looking at things like how the slats are bound together. Or you could be concerned with the blind rotation and blind raising controls. If you have smaller children, you will want to purchase units that have these controls safely out of smaller hands’ reach.
Finally, when looking at wooden venetian blinds, you will be concerning yourself with the actual sizing to your windows. For us, that was one of the biggest hurdles. Every window in your home will be a different size and there is really no standard sizes, to speak of.
Thus, your blind manufacture will make blinds in several ‘standard’ sizes, and you will need the blinds cut down to fit your windows. Now, the actual sizing is personal preference, as you can have the blinds ¼” away from the window edges or 1”. That is up to you. Also, if you select wooden venetian blinds that sit outside of the window framing, you will have a completely different set of choices.
Needless to say, we had to hunt hard to find the right combination of looks, sizes and price to place wooden venetian blinds into our home. I would recommend that you take some time to evaluate what blinds would suite your home and your budget properly.
If you are purchasing your blinds from well established box stores, you can also use time in your favor. It is not unusual for blinds to be sale priced quite often.
